Setting Up OBS for BCKSTG Live
BCKSTG Live uses RTMPS — the same protocol as Twitch and YouTube. If you've streamed before, setup is the same process.
Step 1 — Go to Dashboard → Live Your stream credentials are generated automatically the first time you visit. You'll see:
RTMPS Server (always visible)
Stream Key (masked by default — click reveal to view, click copy to copy)
Step 2 — Open OBS → Settings → Stream

When an artist or creator goes live on BCKSTG, their profile page automatically shows a live video player.|
To watch:
Visit the creator's BCKSTG page (bckstg.co/theirhandle)
The live player loads automatically — no app, no account needed
Click play if it doesn't autostart
To join chat:
Click the chat panel on the right (or below on mobile)
Enter your name and email — one time only
You're remembered for 30 days on that creator's page

Your stream chat is built into the dashboard. Fans enter their name and email once to join chat — they're remembered for 30 days on return visits to your page.
Chat controls in Dashboard → Live:
Chat ON/OFF toggle — enables or disables chat for your stream entirely. When off, the chat panel is hidden on the fan page and fans cannot send messages.

You can have Twitch, Kick, and YouTube links on your BCKSTG profile alongside BCKSTG Live — but here's how priority works:
When you're live on BCKSTG: The BCKSTG player takes over. Twitch, Kick, and YouTube Live banners are suppressed on your fan page. Fans see your BCKSTG stream first.
When you're not live on BCKSTG: Your Twitch, Kick, and YouTube links display normally, including any Live Now badges from those platforms.

After your stream ends, all chat messages are saved and accessible in Dashboard → Live → Chat History tab.
Chat history is organized by session (date), shown newest first. Each session is collapsible. Within history you can still:
Delete individual messages (sets them as deleted)
Ban a viewer email (applies to future streams)
Chat history is private — only you can see it. Fans only ever see the live feed during the stream.Few readersRegenerating Your Stream Key
If your stream key is ever compromised or you want to reset it, you can regenerate it from Dashboard → Live.
Click Regenerate Stream Key — you'll be asked to confirm. Once confirmed:
Your old key is permanently invalidated
A new key is generated immediately
You'll need to update OBS (or any other streaming software) with the new key before your next stream
Do not regenerate mid-stream — it will disconnect your current session.Few readersGetting Access to Live Streaming
Live Streaming is not available to all accounts by default during alpha.
Who can access it:
Creator accounts on Pro or Lifetime — request access via support
Artist, Venue, or Promoter accounts — contact support to request the Live access grant
Trial users — not eligible, must be on a paid Pro or Lifetime plan

BCKSTG Live lets you stream directly to your fans from your BCKSTG profile page — no third-party platform required. Fans watch and chat right on your bckstg.co page.
When you go live, a LIVE ON BCKSTG badge appears on your profile automatically. Your stream takes priority over any Twitch, Kick, or YouTube links you have — fans see your BCKSTG stream first.

When you're streaming, your dashboard shows a stats strip with real-time data:

If you're live in OBS and the dashboard shows LIVE NOW but fans visiting your page don't see the player:
Hard refresh the page — have them try Ctrl+R / Cmd+R to clear any cache
Check the URL — confirm they're on your correct handle URL (bckstg.co/yourhandle)
Browser compatibility — BCKSTG Live uses HLS playback, which works in all modern browsers. Very old browsers may not support it.

If OBS says it's streaming but your dashboard still shows idle:
Check your stream key — go to Dashboard → Live, reveal your key, and confirm it matches exactly what's in OBS Settings → Stream. No extra spaces.
Check your RTMPS server — it must be exactly rtmps://live.cloudflare.com:443/live/ including the trailing slash.
Wait 10–15 seconds — the dashboard polls for status on a short interval. It may take a moment to switch from idle to LIVE NOW.
